Starting a New Mapping​

  1. Initiate a New Mapping:

    • In the Plinqx Designer, click the 'New' button in the left Plinqxes pane. This action will clear and reset the designer pane for a new mapping.

  2. Access the Source Tab:

    • Click on the 'Source' Tab to begin defining your source and destination JSON and Schemas.

Understanding Source and Destination​

  • For Inbound API Calls:

    The Source is the external system, and the Destination is Salesforce.

  • For Outbound API Calls:

    The Source is Salesforce, and the Destination is the external system.

Generating JSON from SOQL​

  1. Select Salesforce Objects and Fields:

    • Use the 'Generate JSON from SOQL' feature to select objects, fields, and related objects from the Salesforce database.

    • The designer will validate the SOQL query to ensure field accessibility.

  2. Generate and Map JSON:

    • Once validated, click the 'Generate JSON' button. This converts the selected fields into JSON format, ready for mapping.

Creating Destination Mappings​

  • Follow the same steps for Destination mappings or paste the destination JSON into the Destination JSON field as required.

Mapping in the Designer Pane​

  1. Drag and Drop Mapping:

    • In the Designer pane, drag source fields to their corresponding destination fields to create your mappings.

  2. Finalizing the Mapping:

    • Once all mappings are complete, click the 'Save Mapping' button to save your work.

Saving Your Mapping​

  1. Provide Mapping Details:

    • Enter a Name and Description for your mapping to easily identify it later.

  2. Save the Mapping:

    • Click 'Save' to finalise and store your mapping in Plinqx.
